Latif Ladid, President, IPv6 Forum

  He is President, IPv6 Forum and Vice President, Ericsson Telebit A/S, Luxembourg. With support from the IETF NG & Ngtrans Working Groups and the IPv6 Deployment Initiative, Latif initiated the foundation of the IPv6 Forum in May 1999 (www.ipv6forum.com).

 Latif is the Chairman of the European Commission IPv6 Task Force initiative (www.ipv6tf.org).

  Researcher on multiple European Commission Next Generation Technologies IST. Project Co-ordinator of the Next Generation Networks Initiative (NGNi, www.ngni.org) funded by the European Commission that kicked-off Jan 1, 2001. Projects that he involves are:
                - 6INIT: www.6init.org  which is  First Pioneer IPv6 Research Project
                - 6WINIT: www.6winit.org 
                - Euro6IX: www.euro6ix.org 
                - Eurov6 : www.eurov6.org
               - Project initiator of the first IPv6 Security & Privacy project called Security Expert Initiative (SEINIT) see www.seinit.org
                - Project initiator of the first European Security Task Force project called SecurIST: www.securitytaskforce.org 

  Currently, he is also a Independent International Consultant and the IPv6 Ready Logo Program Board (www.ipv6ready.org). 

  He is the member of 3GPP PCG (www.3gpp.org), 3GPP2 PCG (www.3gpp2.org), UN ICT Task Force Policy WG, IEC Executive Committee, ITU-T Informal Forum Summit, also be the Vice Chair, EntNET (http://www.comsoc.org/~entnet/EntNet%20Committee.htm)


  Latif was elected in June 5, 2001 as Internet Society Emeritus Trustee (www.isoc.org).

  Latif Ladid has worked in various managerial and marketing positions at Nixdorf Computers in Germany, and Hewlett-Packard in the Middle East, as International Sales Manager at ComputerLand Europe in Luxembourg, and as Managing Director of ComputerLand Switzerland.

  From 1992 to 1998, he was with the Canadian Internet and internet-working specialist, DEVELCON, where he served as Vice President of Sales and Business Development.

  In 1998, Latif joined IPv6-pioneer Telebit Communications A/S as Vice President, Sales EMEA. In June 1999, Ericsson acquired a major share in Telebit, creating Ericsson Telebit A/S.

  He has also served, from 1996 to 1998, as chairman of Global-ISDN.
